Radiologic Technology Program Partners with Beneficiaries |

Our program entered into a collaboration with three of the major healthcare systems in Sacramento a few years ago. University of California Davis Medical Center, Sutter Healthcare System and Mercy Healthcare System were suffering from a shortage of radiologic technologists. After working with representatives from each system and the local Sacramento Community Colleges it was decided that increasing our program would meet the needs more quickly than the opening of a new program. A consortium was created with the three medical groups and our program staff. A classroom was opened in the Sacramento area, a new faculty member was hired and equipment was purchased to provide live transmission of lectures in both directions Marysville to Sacramento. The number of entry students was increased from 25 to 50. The third group of students has graduated since this collaboration has been in effect. The affiliation has been most effective and when the shortage is no longer evident, the co nsortium will withdraw from the financial support, the faculty member will be released as will be the classroom. At that time the program will return to entry of 25 students.
