College Participates in Job Development Group to Share Information and Resources

Victor Valley College works closely with local employers to provide students with industry-specific employment, and holds an annual fall career exposition that provides on-the-spot hiring opportunities for students with local employers.

In addition to these on-campus events, Job Placement Specialists participate in a regional Job Development Group consisting of 25-30 agencies, programs and departments such as Regional Occupational Programs, Chambers of Commerce, Jobs and Employment Services Department, the One-Stop Center, Head Start, and Apprenticeship programs.

The Employment Development Department has taken the lead in organizing the meetings and supporting the coalition.  The group meets once a month in rotating geographic locations to share employment information and resources that will benefit local residents.
