4Mat Model used for Professional Development Series |

Southwestern College has developed a tiered professional development training program using the 4Mat System – an instructional methodology model that combines learning styles and curriculum development/delivery to enhance student success. Level I workshops teach participants how to organize lesson plans that encompass a full range of learning styles. Level II workshops focus on how to use personal experience as the basis for learning, extract critical themes from content, and construct concept-connected lesson plans. Level III workshops help faculty develop concept-based lesson plans in a facilitated environment.
