Quick Click to find an Academic Success Ladder - leading to a career ladder

In our new program, Computer Animation for the Web and Video Gaming, most of the students are young and technologically savvy.   In order to communicate with them in the ways they feel most comfortable, we have implemented

1. a successful class community on myspace.com and

2. a lively group in our online discussion board using Blackboard.

3. a gallery of student works with their photos and comments on our program’s website

4. a quick reference source online pertaining to all our web-based programs on our school’s web site Students can quick click to find an academic success ladder leading to a career ladder

This is extremely effective because these people chose to study a web majors in school because they love to interact on the web. These students wouldn’t really think to telephone me during office hours only—their creative and communicative juices usually flow after midnight. We send out interesting samples we’ve found on the web of what can be done with our FLASH animation program and samples of our own multimedia work—everyone finds it fascinating and as we are on myspace every day anyway, we keep in touch with current and former students in a way they deem 2kul ;) 24/7
