Electronic Lab Software Featured as part of Electronics Courses at Solano

Solano College has developed six electronics courses that are offered online or by a combination of online-classroom: DC Electronic Principles (ECTRN 50), AC Electronic Principles (ECTRN 51), Semiconductor Devices and Circuits (ECTRN 52), Communications and Operational Amplifiers (ECTRN 53), Basic Digital Fundamentals (ECTRN 60), and Digital Systems (ECTRN 61).  All courses are CSU transferable.

Web-based learning includes the use of “Electronics Workbench” – a computer software program that creates a virtual workbench for demonstrating electronic principles.  Skills that are practiced with the software include troubleshooting, electronic principles, circuit design and testing.  The classroom portion includes hands-on laboratory experiments that demonstrate principles learned in the online portion of the class, and basic manipulative skills such as soldering and assemble techniques.
