Skyline Community College Career Center Marketing into Classrooms |
|
Skyline Community College The Skyline Community College Career Center staff advertises its services through notices and emails sent to all faculty. Presentations describing available services are also made at faculty meetings. Instructors are encouraged to bring classes to the center to do research and many do so. Instructors can request that the Center staff go into classes to explain and present career assessments. Students are frequently asked to take an assessment as part of their homework. Career Center Staff then return to the class to do interpretations. The career center continually strives to improve the level of curriculum integration with the vocation education and instructional classes on campus. One best practice is that a form was developed for faculty to request services from the career center. The Supervisor reviews the form and is able to prepare and respond to the specific request. The form also helps the center to do a good job of accounting for the services they provide to the faculty and students. For more information: padron@smccd.net
