Skyline Automotive Tech Program Organized by Type/Time

Skyline College’s Professional Automotive Program offers students four different options for learning automotive technology:

·         Mornings – The Professional General Automotive Technology program focuses on domestic as well as European and Japanese vehicles.  The three-year program includes over 2100 hours of instruction and training.

·         Afternoons – The Japanese Automotive Technology program specializes in Japanese automobiles, and acts as an umbrella for the Toyota Technical Education Network Program (T-TEN).  The two-year program includes over 1440 hours of instruction and training.

·         Evenings – The In-Service program is designed for Apprentice and Journeyman Auto Technicians with in-service training in four or eight week modules.

·         Saturdays – Consumer Classes are designed for the novice who needs to learn how to perform routine maintenance on a vehicle.

Due to high demand, students interested in enrolling in the Morning or Afternoon program must first complete and submit an application with documented proof of:

  1. ·         Prior experience which can include one semester of AUTO 710 at the College, one year of high school or R.O.P. automotive training with a grade of “B” or better, or one year of full-time related work experience;

  2. ·         Math proficiency at a pre-algebra level;
