Partnership Allows Expansion of Power Generation Technology Program in 2004

 

College of the Siskiyous is launching a new Degree/Certificate Program, “Power Generation Technology”, with the Spring Semester of 2004.  The program was developed in partnership with Lassen College, which currently offers a one-year Certificate in PGT. 

Students can complete a Degree/Certificate by completing:

 

  • Four new College of the Siskiyous courses – Power Plant and Field Pipe Welding (WELD 57), Technical Math (Math 59), Introduction to Computer Science (CSCI 1), Introduction to Microcomputers (CSCI 20), and Business Communications (BA 4);

  • Online courses provided by Lassen College;

  • One semester at Lassen College; and

  • A power plant internship.

 

In addition to the new Pipe Welding course, the College has added Blueprint Reading (MFG 52) and Measurements (MFG 51) as required electives to the Degree Program.
