Shasta Offers Online Course in Managing Automotive Hazardous Waste |

Shasta College has developed curriculum designed to educate on the techniques of preventing pollution. A modularized, short-term online course is offered for employees in the automotive repair industry. Automotive instructor Raleigh Ross partnered with Dave Hartley from CalEPA, Department of Toxic Substance Control, Office of Pollution Prevention and Technical Development to produce “Pollution Prevention for Automotive Facilities,” which includes three modules:
Part of the course includes an online oil-testing laboratory that students can use to test methods of extending the life of lubricants used in modern vehicles. The lab software includes many sophisticated features including oil analysis actions, trend reports, and wear debris/solid contaminants analysis.
