Career Ladder with Industry Partner Supports Diesel Technology Program

The Diesel Technology program at Shasta College has direct support for a career ladder. The program had strong support from Caterpillar, with four $50,000 and three $20,000 grants given over the last 10 years.

Grants are used to purchase current, up to date equipment for the program as well as provide scholarships for four students each year.  Students completing the program with an AS degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher are prime recruits for employment by Caterpillar, which offers positions starting at $14 per hour.
