Santa Barbara City College Career Information Disseminated to Classrooms

Santa Barbara City College

There is currently a strong working relationship with all of the vocational programs.  The special program advisor visits most of the vocational classes and gives a ten minute presentation to encourage students to visit the Center for career issues, job search, resume writing, and interviewing techniques.

The Center is continuing to integrate into the academic classes as well.  At this time, 30 to 40 different classes come into the Career Center to complete a career assignment that is designed to get the students involved with the resources.  Additionally, the Career Center sponsors two, three unit sections and an online, and self-paced one-unit course each semester.  The Center has also sponsored numerous on-line sections for a number of years that are specifically for high school students.  The Career Center is doing a good job of integrating with the local high schools, providing free enrollment in the one unit course.
