"Bootcamp" for Recruiting Nontraditional Students

This practice focuses on the special population group of students pursuing careers nontraditional to their gender.  Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College developed and implemented a 128-hour pre-employment course focusing on nontraditional career opportunities.

The course covers resume preparation, interview assistance, assistance in researching apprenticeship possibilities, job search assistance, and referral for internships.

A "road map" to inform students and others about apprenticeship programs was developed.
