Learning Community Created for Math and Engineering Course

San Mateo College has developed several Learning Communities – linked courses that can be co-taught, have integrated assignments, and be co-assessed – including one that combines math and engineering studies.

“Modeling Physical Phenomena with Differential Equations” combines Math 275: Differential Equations and Engineering 260: Circuits and Devices through a lab that requires second order differential equations to describe and analyze physical phenomena.  Students participate through a group project and the lab.
