Partners Launch Network Connectivity and Electronics Technician Programs

Successful partnerships with private business and nonprofits have benefited students attending the College of San Mateo.  Most recently, the SBC Foundation partnered with the College to offer a fast-track information technology program that provides training in building, installing and testing connectivity hardware.

Students can receive their certificate as a Network Connectivity Technician in just nine months, preparing them for careers requiring skills in networking, fiber optics or wireless technology.

In September 2003, the College was designated as a Federal Aviation Administration site authorized to provide Electronics Technician training – one of five such sites in the state.

Students who enter the two-year program also work as paid interns before completing the three-phase training plan.
