Faculty member honored for “Street of Dream” program for at-risk teens |

Professor Salley Deaton, at San Diego City College, was awarded a San Diego Channel 10 Leadership Award in January 2003 for developing her “Street of Dreams” program that targets at-risk teens-wanting to go to college. The program includes for-credit college courses that focus on the arts and poetry, while at the same time encouraging at-risk teens to plan and achieve educational goals at the college level.
