Mecomtronics provides multi-functional training in mechanical, computer and electronics technology

San Diego City College has developed a specially designed program in response to industry needs for multi-functional technicians who are competent in mechanical, computer and electronics technology.

Students completing the program are able to apply electronic theory and related knowledge in order to build, test, repair and modify electronic equipment in industrial, commercial or research settings.

The program includes a combination of engineering technology, physics, math, and English courses.

Teamwork and workforce preparation, along with a hands-on learning approach, are emphasized in the classroom.

Prospective students must complete an application, provide transcripts (high school or college), demonstrate basic computer software/hardware competencies, and have completed three basic math and English classes with a grade of “C” or better before they are invited for an interview.
