Mentoring for Special Population Students in Science and Math Programs

Special Population students have traditionally been under-represented in Science and Math programs.  This best practice addresses this issue by providing San Bernardino Valley College special populations students with student mentors.

New students have the opportunity to work with second-year students for support and guidance.  The Mentoring eliminates much of the anxiety of entering or re-entering college and helps to increase students' interest in the science and math subject areas.
