Regional Fire Academy Prepares Future Firefighters

 

 

Oxnard College’s Regional Fire Academy is a cooperative program of the college and the California State Fire Marshall, providing certificates from the California Specialized Training Institute, National Wildfire Coordinating Group, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as well as the California State Fire Marshal. 

Instructors are current duty, seasonal or retired Firefighters that have completed Fire Instructor IA and IB State Fire Marshal courses. 

Certificates offered include:  Firefighter I, Rescue Systems I, Vehicle Extrication, Confined Space Awareness, Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational, Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational Decontamination, ICS 200, Introduction to Fire Behavior, Basic Firefighter, Firefighter Survival, Firefighter Orientation, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and 80-Hour Basic Firefighter.
