The only Western U.S. community college to offer a two-year degree or certificate in Materials Science Technology is Edmonds Community College in Washington.  Edmonds holds a National Science Foundation grant (www.materialseducation.org) and has partnered with several California Community Colleges to promote the development/integration of materials education courses into existing curricula.  Community colleges in California that offer materials science courses (as part of an engineering or technical degree or certificate program) include:
