Initially started as a support of high school(s) with limited budget for annual software updates, Mt. San Antonio College initiated the possibilities of joining forces with multiple community colleges in negotiating with major software company for group purchases on common CAD software (or annual licensing bundles) used by many colleges. This effort can potentially benefit all parties in various areas such as major cost savings for participating colleges, up-to-date software technology for participating colleges/high schools and students (otherwise unable to afford most current software), more up-to-date trainings for new work-force for the industry, larger/easier/more predictable total sales for software company, etc.
