Outreach and Support to Special Populations

Modesto Junior College designed a program to reduce barriers to educational achievement for individuals who are limited English speakers, have incomes at or below the poverty level, and have limited, or no, access to technology.

The college targeted high school students and community members who live along the I-5 corridor surrounding the community of Patterson.  High school students and community members received comprehensive information pertaining to admission, enrollment, and services offered by the college in vocational education programs.

Participants also received instruction on how to enroll by accessing online enrollment services via the internet.  Translation from English to Spanish was provided.
