Modesto Junior College is beginning recruitment for the Construction Technology Program that will begin at the end of March, 2005. The Construction Technology Program is an accelerated 20 week workforce development program that focuses on helping students prepare for a career in the construction industry.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are equipped with the basic skills and tools needed to go directly to work. In addition to training, students will also receive job placement services and employability training that include workplace skills, employee responsibility, resume building, communication and interviewing.

The first phase of the next Construction Training program will start March 28 in preparation for the 2005 summer session which will begin May 9 and end August 18, 2005. Training is comprised of seven classes for a total of 19 credited units and students will meet daily over the course of 20 weeks.

Applying students will participate in the intake process where each student will be assessed in their basic skill level as part of the requirement in qualifying for entry into the program. The program can accept up to 30 students and the estimated cost of the training is $900, which includes the cost of books, tuition, supplies and material fees. Fee assistance and financial aid are available to qualifying students through the Board of Governors Fee Waiver and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
