Community College Students win State and National VICA awards

 

Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) is a national organization serving a quarter-million high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations.  Each year, students from California Community Colleges compete and win at the state and national levels of competition. 

At the national level, the 2002 Community College medalists included:  

   

San Joaquin Delta College – Fisher: Silver medal in Automated Manufacturing Technology      

San Bernardino Valley College – Joe, Lillard: Silver medal in CNC Milling      

Mt. San Antonio College – Christian, Calbes: Silver medal in Computer Maintenance Technology      

Mt. San Antonio College – Daniel, Fuller: Bronze medal in Electronics Technology

 

State level championships for 2003 took place at Valley College in April. 

 

Qualifiers at the State level would have advanced to the Nationals in Kansas City.
