Career Expo Attracts 8,000 Participants

El Camino College holds an annual Career Expo each spring for increased awareness of vocational programs and workforce opportunities.

The college attributes the success of the Expo, which attracted 8,000 participants in April 2002, to several factors: high school students are invited and provided with transportation to the event; Voc Ed program booths and demos are put in the center of the campus; programs have live demos, (e.g. a CNC machine making parts); over 100 employers show up to recruit and/or advise students in skills needed for vocational and technical employment positions; and, the event is industry sponsored.
