Energy Technology Training Center Provides National Model

 

The Energy Technology Training Center (ETTC) at College of the Desert has developed a national model program for training alternative fuels technicians.  The Center is the West Coast’s first program to focus on alternative energy technology training, demonstration and resource sharing.  Training programs include Introduction to Converted and Dedicated CNG/NGV and LPG Technology; Gaseous Fuels Engine, Carburetion and Electronics; Fleet Manger; and Train the Trainer. 

The ETTC is also developing a Tech-Prep Associate Degree Program in Advanced Transportation Technologies.  Partners include Amalgamated Transit Union, American Society for Advance Fuels Technology, Cummins Engine, South Coast Air Quality Management District, Southern California Gas Company, State of California Employment Training Panel, SunLine Transit District, and West Virginia University.
