De Anza College offers the “Career Workshop Series.” The series consisting of five parts and includes: “An Introduction to Job Search”, “The Best You ‘On Paper’-Resume”, “Prepare, Prepare for the Job Fair”, “The De Anza Spring Job Fair!!” and “How to Ace that Interview.” Each component provides a logical springboard to what comes next in the series. Packets are provided containing tips for effectiveness as students meet potential employers. The “Prepare, Prepare for the Job Fair” workshop has students write a 30-second “self commercial” which allows students to have focus and effectiveness when approaching the employer at the job fair booth. Also provided are: mock interviews, job search techniques and resume writing. At the post Fair workshop, learners learn to ace that interview they got at the Spring Job Fair, or any other interview.
