As technology has propelled itself exponentially, technicians have failed to arrive at the forefront of the technological explosion. Specifically, through development efforts and curriculum developed by Cypress College, hundreds of incumbent workers have been retrained. Cypress College has developed two training programs to serve the needs of the transit and school bus industries. The training programs cover the latest emissions certified version of the Cummins and John Deere Heavy Duty engines. Each training program covers 24 hours of instruction which includes lecture, and real world diagnostics.
The training courses focus on alternative fuels technology for school buses, cities, and other vehicle fleets needing training in clean air technologies.
