Integration of English and Math into Vocational Programs

This practice focuses on special population students with the need for improved English and math skills. Many occupational students come to the college to obtain skill sets for immediate job placement and leave without developing or enhancing English or math skills which are also necessary in the work place.

This project introduced welding and hotel restaurant management occupational students to English and math within the context of their courses.  It also assisted occupational instructors in developing curriculum and various teaching methodologies.
