Butte Hosts 6th Graders for Career Exploration Day

Lead by the 6th grade teachers at Ophir School in Oroville, Butte College’s Career Center hosts an annual career exploration day for about 120 6th grade students each spring.  Students are grouped with a prepared adult chaperone that guides them through a variety of activities including games and computerized career search activities.  Handouts include “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” which challenges students to find the answers to career-related questions, and a selection of over-sized play money ($1, $5, $10, $100) that lists career and educational web sites on one side.
